Mulsum ( Low German Mulsen ) is a district of the municipality of Kutenholz in the Stade district ( Lower Saxony ) with 1867 inhabitants.

history

Mulsum is the oldest village in the municipality and was first mentioned in a document as Mulesla between 1111 and 1116 . A parish of its own is also occupied at that time .

The Alte Marktweg leads across the village square ( Höchststadt ) , which already connected the marketplaces in Bremervörde and Horneburg in the Middle Ages .

The Anna Maria mill was built in 1843.

In the First World War are 53 soldiers in the Second World War fell 132 soldiers from Mulsum.

Regional affiliation

In 1852 Mulsum belonged to the Börde Mulsum in the Harsefeld office , but moved to the Stade office in 1852 and to the Himmelpforten office in 1859 . After 1885 Mulsum belonged to the district of Stade , from 1932 to today's district of Stade .

Mulsum was incorporated into Kutenholz on July 1, 1972 .

On March 28, 1990, the Lower Saxony state parliament decided that Mulsum and some other municipalities should become independent again. The Federal Constitutional Court reversed this decision, however, as the incorporations are not compatible with the constitution.

Mulsum is evangelical-Lutheran and has its own parish with the St. Petri Church , which includes Kutenholz , Aspe, Essel , Schwinge and Sadersdorf as well as Mulsum .

The first chapel in Mulsum was founded in 786 by Willehad . At that time the pastor was still from Harsefeld ; Mulsum only became a separate parish with its own pastor around 1100. The organ by Johann Hinrich Röver was installed in 1869/70 and renovated by Martin Haspelmath in 1989/90 .
