Bark humus
Bark humus consists of composted bark, which is often enriched with nitrogen and possibly with other nutrients. During the conversion processes in composting, fermentation in large heaps , growth-inhibiting antibodies such as tannic acids , resins and phenols are broken down. Bark humus has an average pH value of around 6. With its high organic matter content, it serves to improve the soil.
Quality assured bark products are examined for plant compatibility and pollutants.
Bark mulch consists of coarsely chopped bark which, unlike bark humus, has not been fermented and therefore still contains growth-inhibiting substances.
