history

The RStE sold the railway operations in 1994 and turned to the real estate business. The Rinteln-Stadthagener Verkehrs-GmbH was founded in Obernkirchen on January 1, 1995 for the goods traffic that remained on the railway . Almost three quarters of the capital was raised by Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen AG , which has been the operator ever since. But the district of Schaumburg and neighboring cities also took part in the new company. This provided freight transport services on its own rail infrastructure with a volume of 70,000 tons annually. In addition, the 1,500 hp diesel locomotive was used on behalf of Deutsche Bahn on their network.

Since 2006, wood has been loaded almost exclusively in the Rinteln Nord, Nienstädt and Stadthagen West stations. The stone traffic almost came to a standstill. On June 30, 2007, the RStV was dissolved as an independent company. The last self-operated freight train ran on June 19, 2007. On this day, a wooden train was picked up for the Heggenstaller company in Uelzen. The transport was carried out by the OHE locomotive 120072. The infrastructure is to be maintained for another two years. During this time, at least in theory, further train performances are possible.
