Riposte

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A riposte is an immediate counterattack from a successful parry . The technique of the riposte combines the recording of the incoming attack directly with the counterattack , which exploits a gap in the opposing defense caused by the attack .

use

The term comes from the French language and describes a quick-witted answer there. The term in the sense of the close combat maneuver is mainly used in fencing and martial arts , in the latter case mostly when defense and counterattack are carried out with the same extremity (arm, leg).
