Risga is a small uninhabited island in the Scottish Council Area Highland . It is located in the Loch Sunart inlet near the islands of Oronsay and Càrna . In a broader definition, it is sometimes included in the Inner Hebrides archipelago .
geography
The island in Loch Sunart is no more than 480 m long and 280 m wide. It is located near the north bank of the inlet. Opposite is the hamlet of Glenborrodale on Glenborrodale Bay on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula . It is separated from this by a waterway that is less than 100 m wide at the narrowest point. Historically Risga belonged to the Lochaber district .
History and archeology
The late Mesolithic shell pile of Risga is located on Risga .
