Risk!

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Risk! was a quiz show in the afternoon program of the public television broadcaster ZDF .

The show was moderated by Kai Böcking , who became known for moderating the ARD music program Formula One .

The program's candidates had to answer specific questions on a topic of their choice. This is a modified version of the show concept of The Grand Prize and All or Nothing .

The candidates were not allowed to have anything to do with their topic professionally, not to have taken a subject-related degree or to have written literature on it themselves.

The program started with a buzzer questionnaire with all candidates, in which general, sometimes topical questions were asked. Whoever was able to answer most of the questions received a "joker", that is, a question in his themed game could remain unanswered. Anyone who did not need the joker they won received an annual ticket from the Northwest German Class Lottery ( NKL ).

Each candidate had to announce at the beginning how many rounds he intended to play. In each round (= broadcast) he was asked 7 questions. For the first round (the first 7 questions) the winnings were 1,000 marks (511 euros), in the second round 2,000 marks, and so on up to the seventh round 7,000 marks. A total profit of 28,000 marks (plus possibly the NKL ticket) was thus possible. It was an all-or-nothing game: Whoever did not answer a single question or answered it incorrectly (and could not use the joker) received nothing (except for the NKL lottery ticket that might have been won).

Risk! was broadcast from March 23, 1998 to December 20, 2002 Monday to Friday in the afternoon program of ZDF at 4.15 p.m. During this time, almost 800 episodes were produced.

The broadcast was recorded in the endemol studios in Kalscheuren , three broadcasts a day, one in the morning and two in the afternoon. Ultimately, it was recorded in Munich from mid-2001.
