The Celtic residential space was created according to C14 analysis and artifact finds between 100 and 200 n. Chr., And was last contemporary with the Roman occupation of southern Scotland, but was out of by the Hadrian's Wall secured area.

Rispain Camp is located on a slope facing north, east and south. Its trench was used for both defense and drainage. Traces of the wooden gate were discovered from the entrance on the slope side.

Only a small part of the interior has been excavated. Traces of two round houses were found. One was 13.5 m in diameter with a board wall and an inner post ring supporting the roof. Bones show that cattle, sheep and pigs were kept and deer were hunted. Grains of barley and wheat suggest that these were grown in the surrounding fields.
