Risto Isomäki (born June 8, 1961 in Turku ) is a Finnish writer, science editor and environmental activist.

His first novel, Sarasvatin hiekkaa (Die Schmelze) , which was translated into German, is an eco-thriller that was nominated for the Finlandia Prize in 2005 and the Tähtivaeltaja Prize, a Finnish science fiction prize, and the Danke-für-das-Buch- medal won. The novel was published by Bastei-Lübbe in April 2008. In 2012 another ecothriller appeared under the title Jumalan Pikkusormi (God's Little Finger) , which is about the construction of a huge updraft power plant in Egypt - and about the militant resistance of the oil lobby against this project.
