Rita fan
Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai ( Chinese 范徐麗泰 * 20th September 1945 in Shanghai ) was 1998-2008 President of the Legislative Assembly of Hong Kong (Legislative Council of Hong Kong (short LegCo)).
Life
She is married to Stephen Fan Sheung-tak and has two children (a daughter and a son).
Education and qualifications
Rita Fan attended St. Stephen's Girls' College in Hong Kong from 1952 to 1964. This was followed by a visit to Hong Kong University . There she did the Master of Social Science in Psychology (1970-1973), the Certificate in Personnel Management (1969-1971) and the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Physics (1964-1967).
Current activities
She is a Hong Kong MP in the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China and Chair of the Administrative Authority of the Association for the Reunification of Hong Kong with China and an advisor to the Hong Kong Federation of Women .
Previous activities
She was 1998-2000 President of the Supreme Legislative Assembly ( First Legislative Council ). From 1997 to 1998 she held the same office in the Provisional Legislative Council.
She was Hong Kong's MP from 1998 to 2003 in the Ninth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.
