Rita Sousa Uva

Rita Sousa Uva (* 1972 in Porto ) is a Portuguese author and lawyer specializing in aviation and space law. She has lived and worked in Germany since 2010.

Life

Sousa Uva studied law at the University of Lisbon (graduated in 1995) and has been working as a lawyer and legal assistant since 1997, in particular for the Portuguese airport operator ANA Aeroportos de Portugal since 1999 .

In parallel to her work at ANA, she completed postgraduate studies in international relations at the University of Lisbon and one in media law at the University of Coimbra , before completing a master's degree in aerospace law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands in 2005 . Her thesis was published in 2008 under the title European Community State Aid Policy for public airports: reality versus law? published by Almedina in Coimbra , where her first scientific work was published in 2007.

In October 2010, she moved from the Portuguese ANA to the European Aviation Safety Agency in Cologne .

Parallel to her work as a lawyer, she writes poems, chronicles and stories and is the author of a regular column in the Portuguese-language newspaper Portugal Post, which appears in Germany .

In addition to her scientific work, she also published the books Contos d´Agripina ( short stories) and O Cometa Laranja ( short story), and she was also involved in the compilation of short stories Contos da Emigração - Homens Que Sofrem de Sonhos and the collection of poems Poetas na Diáspora - Antologia ( both published by Oxalá Editora in Dortmund ).
