history

In 1251 the first documentary mention of the town of Triestewitz, which is owned by the Nimbschen monastery, took place. At this point in time, the fortified tower that has been preserved in the manor house already existed.

In 1557, the von Runge family, favored by the Elector of Saxony, converted the old mansion from a medieval fortification into a representative residential palace in the Renaissance style. In 1580 the mansion burned down almost completely and was then rebuilt by the von Runge family.

The manor house burned down again in the Seven Years' War in 1758, and the ruin was sold a year later by the von Hartitzsch family and sold to the von Theler family, who, under Major Carl August von Theler, initiated the reconstruction in 1764/65. In 1808 the von Stammer took over the manor. In the 19th century they tried to design the landscape park in the English style. As a result of the land reform in September 1945, the von Stammer family was expropriated and expelled.

Today the building is used as a family-run castle hotel.
