Triestewitz is a district of the municipality of Arzberg in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

Triestewitz is located northwest of Arzberg on the state road 25, which leads to Prausitz .

history

The rural community with manor district and manor settlement is a lane village . The district encloses 663 hectares of land in the Elbe floodplain . In 1251 the village was already called Tristewitz . The village Trestewitz was written in 1261/85 . From 1825 the village Triestewitz was written as it is today. The population grew from 9 people in 1529 to 280 in 1818, 702 in 1950 and 485 in 1964. There has been a parish church in the village since 1500. The superordinate authority was in the Schweinitz office from 1529 to 1754 and is still in Torgau today. The village was incorporated into Arzberg in 1974.
