Kathewitz is a district of the municipality of Arzberg in the district of Northern Saxony in Saxony .

The place is west of the place Arzberg on the dike of the Old Elbe and the Belgernscher Sand near the nature reserve Alte Elbe Kathewitz . A local link road to the county road 8913, the village is connected traffic default.

history

The irregular square village has a corridor with 188 hectares of land. In 1267 the village was called Chotewiz , which was developed in a modified form until 1791 as Kathewitz . In 1529 eight people lived in the developing village, in 1818 there were 51, in 1925 however already in 191 and in 1946 a total of 244. The residents joined the parish of Arzberg. The higher authority was Schweinitz in 1529 and from 1551 until today the office of Torgau . On July 1, 1950, the village was incorporated into Arzberg.
