Ottersitz is a hamlet-like district of the municipality of Arzberg in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

location

The hamlet is located northeast of Belgern and southeast of the Köllitsch district on an alluvial plain in the eastern Elbe lowlands. The district road 8913 also includes the hamlet in terms of traffic in the ferry service across the Elbe .

history

The hamlet was first mentioned in 1245 as an individual estate Uttritz . The name developed on Otteritz by 1768 . In 1529 the residents were parish in Belgern. In 1529 8 people lived in the manor, 61 in 1818 and 23 in 1910. The administrative authority was based in Torgau from 1314 with interruptions in Liebenwerda and then again in Torgau. The estate settlement has 89 hectares of land in the estate block corridor. From 1751 to 1839 the manor was the seat of the von Egidy family and before that of the von Weltewitz family . After 1945 the estate was nationalized.

Ottersitz is currently uninhabited.
