The manor in Wettbergen appears in connection with the von Alten family as early as 1334 , passed into foreign ownership in the 17th century and was repurchased in 1885 by the von Alten family from Linden. Since then it has been listed as an accessory for the Linden manor and has been expanded considerably. In 1967 Volkmar von Alten sold the property, except for a remainder of 10 hectares, as building land. In the course of a new building project in Wettbergen, the castrum of the Edelhof , which was built around 1790 in the style of the Italian Renaissance , was demolished in 1969 . Instead, the owner family took over Gut Söderhof in 1969 .
