The Wildshausen manor is located in what is now the Oeventrop district of Arnsberg .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1310. Wilhelm I. von Ardey sold his rule to Count Ludwig von Arnsberg that year . The Wildshausen moated castle was later built on the property . After the death of Anna von Kleve , the wife of Gottfried IV and last Countess of Arnsberg, the property fell to Archbishop Friederich III. from Cologne . The Wildshausen estate, which was run by various feudal men and aristocrats, was subsequently built to supply the moated castle. Under Johann von Padberg , the estate was raised to a knight's seat in 1501. The entrepreneur Josef Cosack bought the property from Gottlieb von der Becke zu Hemer in 1888 for 440,000 Reichsmarks. The manor remained in the family to this day.
