history

Early Years (1994 to 2006)

On December 3, 1994, a group of dissatisfied former players of the Osterholz-Scharmbeck Mozart Rats founded the 1st American Sports Club Osterholz-Scharmbeck Black Hawks from 1994 e. V. In November 1996 it was decided to rebuild the association. As a result, on December 1, 1996, the 1st ASC Osterholz-Scharmbeck Black Hawks von 1994 eV became the 1st ASC Ritterhude Badgers von 1994 eV. V. Training began in the same month. In 1997, the Badgers got into gaming. They lost their first game against the Hannover Stampeders on May 25, 1997 with 0:58. The only win of the first season was against the Bremen Bravehearts. In the 1998 season, the Badgers' flag youth reached the Junior Flag Bowl and won it in Braunschweig against the Hamburg Flag Devils. In the same year, the Badgers flag youth team reached third place at the European Championships in Switzerland. After the 2004 season, the Badgers men's team broke up. After the 2006 season, the flag team followed.

New beginning (since 2008)

In autumn 2008 the association was about to be dissolved. At the annual general meeting, however, there were members who wanted to give football in Ritterhude another chance. They took over the association without active branches from the previous chairman, Marcus Meckes. Training was restarted in 2009. For the 2010 season you were able to register a men's team in the Association League Lower Saxony / Bremen. In the 2011 season, the Badgers started after a league reform in the Lower Saxony / Bremen regional league. This season they became unbeaten champions and were promoted to the Lower Saxony / Bremen Oberliga. In 2015, the Badgers made it to GFL 2.
