Rivista Italiana di Numismatica

The Rivista Italiana di Numismatica is a numismatic journal founded in 1888, making it the oldest still existing coinage journal in Italy. It appears annually.

The founders were Francesco and Ercole Gnecchi, the first director was Solone Ambrosoli until 1890 . The Gnecchi brothers then ran the Rivista for 28 years. The editors of the Rivista Italiana di Numismatica suggested the establishment of the Società Numismatica Italiana , which took place in 1892.

Later directors were Lodovico Laffranchi , Angelo Francesco Romagnoli, Gianluigi Cornaggia Castiglioni, Serafino Ricci, Giorgio Nicodemi, Sormani Andreani Verri, Oscar Ulrich Bansa. Currently (as of 2017) Adriano Savio is the director.

To mark the centenary, Giovanni Gorini, the director at the time, published an overview of the journal's history in 1988.
