The Roßbach is an orographically left tributary of the Emscher . It is created by the confluence of the Dellwiger Bach and Schmechtingsbach in Dortmund-Marten . It flows through the Dortmund districts of Marten, Wischlingen , Rahm and Huckarde , where it finally flows into the Emscher.

The stream lies in concrete bowls throughout its course. In Marten it is pumped with sewage and rainwater from the west of Dortmund as well as the Oespeler Bach, a right tributary. A few meters downstream, the Bärenbruchgraben flows in from the left. Rainwater is also supplied to it from the federal motorway 45 via the rain retention basin on the A 45 bridge . The Winkelgraben flows into cream from the left.

The concrete shells have been removed in sections since 2017, gradually renaturing the Roßbach by the Emschergenossenschaft. The construction work is expected to be completed by 2022.
