Huckarde is the statistical district 82 and at the same time a western part of the city district of the same name in the city of Dortmund .

history

The first settlements in Huckarde, near today's Oberfeldstrasse, could be proven up to the time around the birth of Christ. In a document of the Essen Abbey it is mentioned that around the year 860 Hukretha passed into the possession of Altfrid , Bishop of Hildesheim and founder of the Abbey. From this time to the secularization and dissolution of the monastery in 1803, the rule of Huckarde , to which the neighboring Dorstfeld also belonged, formed an Essen exclave on the border between the county of Mark and the county of Dortmund . During the construction of a well in 1810, hard coal was found for the first time in what had previously been a purely agricultural district . When the Hansa colliery, which was closed in 1980, was founded in 1855, the industrial age also began in Huckarde.

The place has been connected to the Emschertal Railway since 1878 . In 1908 Huckarde received a representative passenger station . On June 10, 1914, the community was incorporated into the city of Dortmund.
