Holthausen ( Low German : Holthusen) is the statistical district 13 and at the same time a district of the urban city of Dortmund .

location

Holthausen is at an altitude of 75  m above sea level. NHN approx. 7 km north of Dortmund city center. Holthausen is part of the Eving district and borders on Brechte , Eving , Lindenhorst , Ellinghausen , Schwieringhausen and the Brambauer district of Lüner .

The district has an area of ​​496 ha.

Townscape

Holthausen has a strong village character and a great recreational value for Dortmund. There are extensive green and forest areas including landscape protection areas and many farms, which u. a. Offer horse boarding. One of the oldest traditional houses in Dortmund is in Holthausen, the old Krämer distillery. In contrast to most companies, the grain is not obtained from large industrial plants, but is finely distilled under constant supervision in the company's own distillery. Until 1905, the municipality was officially named Holthausen bei Lünen to distinguish it from the municipality of Holthausen bei Castrop, which is also in the Dortmund district . Certainly also because Holthausen once belonged to the Lünen office . In that year the community was renamed Holthausen bei Brechte .

On April 1, 1928, Holthausen was incorporated into the city of Dortmund.

Parts of Brambauer were given to the city of Dortmund on July 1, 1950 in exchange . Brambauer received an area originally belonging to Schwieringhausen (about 82.28 ha). The parcels ceded to Dortmund are located south of the A 2 and are now partly part of the Holthausen statistical district. They are located north of the Schiffhorst road (about 57.18 ha).
