Holthausen ( Low German : Holthusen) is the statistical district 13 and at the same time a district of the urban city of Dortmund .

Holthausen is at an altitude of 75  m above sea level. NHN approx. 7 km north of Dortmund city center. Holthausen is part of the Eving district and borders on Brechte , Eving , Lindenhorst , Ellinghausen , Schwieringhausen and the Brambauer district of Lüner .

Until 1905, the municipality was officially named Holthausen bei Lünen to distinguish it from the municipality of Holthausen bei Castrop, which is also in the Dortmund district . On April 1, 1928, Holthausen was incorporated into the city of Dortmund.

Parts of Brambauer were given to the city of Dortmund on July 1, 1950 in exchange . Brambauer received an area originally belonging to Schwieringhausen (about 82.28 ha). The parcels ceded to Dortmund are located south of the A 2 and are now partly part of the Holthausen statistical district. They are located north of the Schiffhorst road (about 57.18 ha).
