List of Dortmund districts
This list shows the districts of Dortmund . The list is arranged according to city districts and contains all statistical districts and sub-districts.
Explanation
The city of Dortmund is divided into twelve boroughs . There is no official division into city districts below these city districts. However, all city districts are further subdivided into a total of 62 statistical districts (two-digit code number) and these in turn into 170 statistical sub-districts (three-digit, with the first two digits corresponding to the statistical district), of which 15 coincide with the higher-level statistical districts (in this case is the last digit "0", otherwise it is numbered from 1 up).
In the three inner city districts, the statistical districts are largely based on prominent buildings and squares; the subdivision is not based on historical developments and localities, but is more or less bureaucratically determined. Exceptions are, for example, the statistical district of Dorstfeld or the statistical sub-district of Körne.
Outside the city center, the statistical districts or sub-districts usually correspond to formerly independent municipalities (whose boundaries are still preserved in the districts ) and can therefore be understood as urban / districts .

Hear
The area of the current urban district of Hörde includes the former urban district of Hörde, which was incorporated into Dortmund on April 1, 1928. On August 1, 1929, the formerly independent communities of Syburg and Wellinghofen followed. Holzen was finally incorporated on January 1, 1975.
The following districts are in the city district:
- 1228 Berghofen (only extreme northwest of the district)
- 1236 Schüren (only extreme southwest of the district)
- 1241 Benninghofen (excluding the north east)
- 1243 Hacheney (eastern half)
- 1246 Wellinghofen
- 1247 Hörde
- 1301 wood
- 1303 Syburg (with Buchholz, formerly Westhofen)
- 1901 Niederhofen
- 1902 Wichlinghofen (without the extreme northwest, beyond the B 54)
All district names belonging to a significant extent to the city district, with the exception of Niederhofen, are also names of statistical districts - but in z. T. changed borders and in the case of Hacheney less than half of the district bears the name today.

Hombruch
The Hombruch district is located in the south of Dortmund. It is the largest of the Dortmund city districts. His area was incorporated into Dortmund on August 1, 1929.
The following districts are in the city district:
- 1240 Barop
- 1243 Hacheney (western half)
- 1244 Kirchhörde
- 1288 Eichlinghofen
- 1900 Lücklemberg
- 1907 Persebeck
- 1908 spreaders
The current structure of the city district has very little to do with historical affiliations; The very large district of Kirchhörde is now divided into three structurally different statistical districts, the most populous and most important of which is Hombruch, which adjoins the core city via Barop. The north-west of the Baroper district with the university is in turn counted to Eichlinghofen today - as is Salingen. The district of Lücklemberg is now divided into two different districts, Rombergpark-Lücklemberg and Bittermark. The district of Hacheney is now divided into two districts - although the successor to the name is in the neighboring district of Hörde to the east. Like Dalingen, Persebeck is now only a statistical subdistrict.

Lütgendortmund
The district of Lütgendortmund is located in the west of Dortmund. Its area was mainly incorporated into Dortmund on April 1, 1928. Somborn followed on August 1, 1929.
The city district includes the districts:
- 1285 Bövinghausen
- 1286 Dellwig
- 1291 Kley (with Somborn)
- 1292 Lütgendortmund
- 1293 Marten (excluding the extreme northwest and the extreme east)
- 1294 Oespel
- 1297 Westrich
- 1905 Holte
While the district Dellwig was divided between neighboring statistical districts and thus de facto Dellwig no longer exists as a district, Holte is now a sub-district, while there is a district with the same name for all other districts, which, however, usually differs slightly in the limits.

Huckarde
The district of Huckarde is located in the west of Dortmund. Deusen, Huckarde, Rahm and Wischlingen were incorporated into Dortmund on June 10, 1914, and Kirchlinde on April 1, 1928.
The city district includes the following districts:
- 1239 Dortmund (small part in the north-west of the Dortmund area, beyond the railway)
- 1254 Deusen
- 1256 Ellinghausen (only extreme south, beyond the L 657, with a former core town)

- 1271 Westerfilde (extreme south only)
- 1289 Huckarde
- 1290 church linden tree
- 1293 Marten (only extreme northwest, beyond the railway)
- 1295 cream
For all four districts (Dortmund, Ellinghausen, Nette, Westerfilde and Marten not counted, as they are mainly located in other city districts), there are statistical districts with the same name within different limits, whereby Rahm was merged with part of Kirchlinde to form Jungferntal-Rahm.

Amount of money
The city district Mengede is located in the north-west of Dortmund. His area was incorporated into Dortmund on April 1, 1928. On July 1, 1950, he lost parts of the area to the neighboring town of Lünen.
The following districts are in the city district:
- 1249 Bodelschwingh
- 1256 Ellinghausen (without the extreme south with a former core town)
- 1259 Groppenbruch
- 1264 Mengede
- 1266 Nette (excluding the extreme south, south of the railway)
- 1268 Oestrich (with Brüninghausen)
- 1270 Schwieringhausen
- 1271 Westerfilde (without the extreme south)
The former communities of Ellinghausen, Groppenbruch and Schwieringhausen, which are still more rural today, are now combined as sub-districts, together with the east of Nettes, (misleadingly) in the statistical district of Schwieringhausen; all other former municipalities are now named after their own statistical district. Brüninghausen represents a special case , which lies completely within the Oestrich district and whose core town also belongs to today's Oestrich, whose north, however, is part of the namesake for a statistical subdistrict Mengedes. The name Brüninghausen / Knepper is doubly misleading, as not only the core town, but also the Dortmund part of the Gustav Knepper power plant is in the west of Oestrich.
