Schoenau is a former district in the municipality Hombruch in Dortmund south, since 2001 the district Barop is affiliated. The center of the settlement is a garden city around the Rüpingsbach , which flows into the Emscher in Schönau . A few hundred meters northeast of it is the Schnettker Bridge , on which the federal motorway 40 crosses the Emschertal.
