Schanze is a district of Dortmund . It forms the sub-district 678 in the statistical district Kirchhörde-Löttringhausen , city ​​district Hombruch .

The district borders on the Herdecker district Ahlenberg in the south and was formed from the south of the former municipality of Kirchhörde . On April 1, 1887, this moved from the Dortmund district to the newly established Hörde district . On August 1, 1929, Kirchhörde was incorporated into Dortmund.

The most important road connection in the district is Landesstraße  684 (Hagener Straße).
