Hostedde is a Dortmund district in the Scharnhorst district . The district borders on Grevel to the east, Alt-Scharnhorst to the south and Derne to the west . Hostedde is a purely residential area. There are no industries and only a few smaller service companies and restaurants. Hostedder Strasse, which runs straight through Hostedde, is an important connecting road between Lanstrop and Dortmund city center.

On November 22, 1922, Hostedde was incorporated into the municipality of Altenderne-Oberbecker, which was renamed Derne on October 27, 1923. On April 1, 1928, the place was incorporated together with Derne into the city of Dortmund.

In addition to the district of Hostedde, the district of Grevel to the east also belongs to the statistical district of Hostedde .
