Körne is a city district of Dortmund located to the east and belongs to the city ​​district Innenstadt-Ost .

history

On April 1, 1905, the village of Körne (then still spelled Coerne) was incorporated into the city of Dortmund. The then Curni (curn = mill) was first mentioned in a document in 989. In the Middle Ages, Körne gained its special importance due to its location on Hellweg , the most important east-west trade route. Even today, the grains Hellweg is a major four-lane main road which from downtown via Körne further through the neighborhoods Wambel (Wambeler Hellweg) Brackel (Brackeler Hellweg), isopods (Asselner Hellweg) and Wickede (Wickeder Hellweg) in the neighboring town of Unna leads . Dortmund Körne-West S-Bahn station
