Buchholz is a district of Dortmund . It forms the sub-district 552 in the statistical district Syburg , urban district Hörde .

Until the end of 1974, Buchholz belonged to the municipality of Westhofen . From the formation of the district in the province of Westphalia, this belonged to the district of Dortmund . On April 1, 1887, she moved to the newly established Hörde district . This was dissolved on August 1, 1929. Westhofen came to the Iserlohn district with Schwerte . On January 1, 1975, the main part (6.71 km ² with then 5279 inhabitants) was incorporated into Schwerte, which has since been part of the Unna district. The district of Buchholz (1.70 km² with 625 inhabitants at the time) was reclassified to Dortmund. There Buchholz was assigned to the Hörde district.
