Location of Westrich in Dortmund

Westrich is the statistical district 76 and at the same time a district of the urban city of Dortmund . It is located in the Lütgendortmund district . The place was incorporated into Bövinghausen on April 1, 1909 , with which it was incorporated into the city of Dortmund on April 1, 1928.

Westrich lies on both sides of Bockenfelder Straße, bounded by the Dortmund suburbs of Kirchlinde , Bövinghausen and Lütgendortmund and the town of Castrop-Rauxel.

In Westrich there is a soccer field and a sports field for athletics. The suburb also has a petrol station as well as a bakery with a café and a kiosk. The moated castle Haus Dellwig in neighboring Lütgendortmund is within walking distance in the Dellwiger Forest. Adjacent to Westrich is the Kirchlinde school center with the Bert-Brecht-Gymnasium Dortmund , the Droste-Hülshoff-Realschule and the Westrich elementary school.

Westrich is served by two bus lines of the DSW21 every 20 minutes (line 462 and 470). It is also  approached by night express line 9 at night . The closest train stations are Dortmund-Lütgendortmund Nord and Dortmund-Bövinghausen on the Duisburg-Ruhrort-Dortmund railway , where the regional train RB 43 (Dorsten - Dortmund) runs every hour.
