Renninghausen is a Dortmund district in the Hombruch district .

The district is located south of the Bolmke forest area ; it consists of an old rural settlement and, for the most part, of a large settlement built during the Nazi era. Their original name was "Rudolf-Heß-Siedlung".

Renninghausen is home to the Renninghausen school center with the Schubert elementary school , the former Renninghausen secondary school, the Robert Koch secondary school and the Helene Lange grammar school as well as the secondary level II (upper secondary school) of the Brünninghausen comprehensive school; municipal and church day-care centers are also located there.

The Bolmke and the Schultenhof have high recreational value .

The Bolmke and the surrounding area are also very popular with walkers, cyclists and athletes such as joggers or Nordic walkers, some of whom also come from outside by bus, car and other means of transport in order to use the Bolmke as a recreation area. For a long time, the Bolmke was also used as a route for cross-cycling, but the route was destroyed by an official order. Since then, the Hombruch bike park has enjoyed increasing popularity.
