Brackel is a district of Dortmund . It is located in the east of the city of Dortmund and borders in the north on the district of Scharnhorst , in the east on the city of Unna , in the southeast on the municipality of Holzwickede , in the south on the district Aplerbeck , in the west on the urban district Innenstadt-Ost and in the north-west on the Downtown North District .
The district of Brackel also includes the districts of Wambel , Brackel , Asseln and Wickede , which are also known as "Hellweg Villages" , and the district of Neuasseln south of Brackel .
The city district is the location of Dortmund Airport , which is located in the Wicked area .
