Kemminghausen is a Dortmund district in the Eving district . The former community was incorporated into Dortmund on June 10, 1914.

History and structure

The district north of Eving and east of the Grävingholz and Süggel forest areas is predominantly rural. Kemminghausen has 1662 inhabitants, of which about 13.2% are foreigners. The district is closely connected to Eving. Both parts of the city merge seamlessly.

Shaft 5, a former weather shaft of the minister stone mine, is worth seeing . The shaft has a depth of 952 meters and a diameter of 7.60 meters. The weather shaft was decommissioned in 1987 and declared a monument in 1988. Today a restaurant and a beer garden are housed in the above-ground buildings.

Kemminghausen's flagship is the local sports club VfL Kemminghausen.
