The Dortmund-Huckarde Nord train station is a passenger station in the Huckarde district of Dortmund . From a railway operational point of view, it is not a train station , but just a stop .
history
The station is on the Emschertal Railway and today has only one platform track. After the Emschertal Railway was initially only used to transport coal to the Duisburg port , from 1874 passenger traffic began and a stop was set up in the suburb of Huckarde in 1879. In 1908 the station was given a representative reception building. The building, together with the Dortmund-Kurl train station, is one of the last two train station structures from the time before the First World War that have been preserved in Dortmund's urban area.
Since a line to the Dortmund freight yard branched off here until 1990 or 2003, the importance of the station was previously greater, and there were more tracks.
The Dortmund-Huckarde Nord station is still used today as a stop for the Emschertal Railway. There is a restaurant in the reception building.
The station is registered as a monument in the list of monuments of the city of Dortmund and part of the route of industrial culture .

Special
Dortmund-Huckarde also has a stopping point Dortmund-Huckarde of the S2 in the west of the district. It is west of Huckarde Nord. The route of the S2 was not expanded for passenger traffic until 1991 and the former Dortmund-Huckarde Süd station was located more south than the new S-Bahn stop and was never served by the S-Bahn.
