The Hoeschpark is a green area in the north of Dortmund with numerous sports facilities between Borsigplatz and the former Westfalenhütte of Hoesch Stahl AG .

From 1937 the German Labor Front built the Hoeschpark on the grounds of the White Meadow based on the model of the Duisburg sports park . It mainly served as a recreational area for industrial workers and as a green lung for the district. The Hoeschpark was opened in the war year 1941.

The center is a now dilapidated cycling track , which leads around a lawn, and the Stockheide warm water outdoor pool , also called Hoeschbad , which was operated with the waste heat from the ironworks . In addition, a tennis facility, further sports fields, children's playgrounds and restaurants complete the offer.

Following the takeover of the Hoesch Group by Thyssen Krupp Stahl AG , the grounds of the Hoeschpark and the Stockheide swimming pool were transferred to the City of Dortmund in May 2004 for two million euros. Sportwelt Dortmund gGmbH will manage the existing facilities .

After the renovation of the old sports facilities began, a multifunctional field was opened in the inner circle of the former cycling track in May 2006, which is primarily intended to provide a home for the base and softball teams of the Dortmund Wanderers . At the beginning of 2007, the baseball stadium was supplemented by a floodlight system so that the stadium now meets international requirements. On June 20, 2007 an international friendly match between Australia and Germany took place here.

A small athletics stadium with four circular tracks as well as jumping and throwing facilities was built right next door. Mainly athletes from the LG Olympia Dortmund train there . There are also two ash pitches with floodlights and a small playing field.

The Hoeschpark is registered as a monument in the list of monuments of the city of Dortmund .
