Robby Cantarutti

Robby Cantarutti  (born June 17, 1966 in Wuppertal ) is an Italian architect and designer from Wuppertal. He is a representative of Italian realism .

Cantarutti's work can be found in Friuli Venezia Giulia , including the "House on the River" where he lives with his family.

Cantarutti's work is shaped by his passion for materials and nature. Cantarutti mostly uses raw materials like cement conglomerates, cellulosic fiber materials and oxidized metals. He combines the designed shape with the natural weathering of the materials he uses.

style

Influenced by Bauhaus  and Le Corbusier , Cantarutti combines mainstream rationalism with organic style. Cantarutti enjoys global attention. His masterpiece, Cabin at the River (House on the River) was also the subject of the film "Cabin at the River" by Silvia Zeitlinger and was awarded the Green LEAF Award 2015 for the best single-family house in 2015. It became the most photographed and filmed modern single house in Italy. Leading lifestyle companies such as Illy and Knoll use the house as a film location for their advertising purposes.

Cantarutti's industrial design is represented around the world by Italian companies Vibia and Fast.
