Robert Evans (politician)
Robert Evans (born October 23, 1956 in Ashford , Surrey / Middlesex ) has been a MEP for the Labor Party for London in the Socialist Group in the European Parliament since 1994 .
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism
- Deputy for the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs
- Deputy for the delegation in the EU- Romania Joint Parliamentary Committee
- Member of the Delegation for Relations with the Countries of South Asia and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation ( SAARC )
After graduating from the University of London , he was:
- Elementary school teacher
- Director of a junior school
- Chairman of a local branch of the National Teachers' Association
- Labor constituency chairman of Chertsey and Walton and
- Member of the state board and the socialist education association.
From 1999 to 2004 Evans was vice chairman of the Committee on Citizens' Freedoms and Rights, Justice and Home Affairs.
