Robert Herbert "Bob" Fergus (* 1924 ; † 1999 ) was an American racing driver .

Racing career

Robert Fergus began his driving career in 1949 on an MG TC that he owned until his death in 1999. Fergus was active in the 1950s, with starts in the SCCA National Sports Car Championship . He won countless national sports car races and was runner-up overall in the 1956 Road America 4-hour race in a Porsche 550 . He finished third in the first Sebring 12-hour race , which took place in 1952 , with partner Dick Irish on a Siata 1400 GS. From the 1980s until his death he drove historic car races.
