Robert Figl

Robert Figl (born June 1, 1967 in Karlsruhe ) is a German wheelchair athlete . At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , he was the first German to win the gold medal in the men's demonstration run over 1500 m. At the Summer Paralympics in Sydney in 2000 he came third in the 1500 m and in Seoul in 1988 on a first place in the 100 m. Figl is a member of MTG Mannheim . He works as a dermatologist in Karlsruhe.

For winning the gold medal at the Paralympic Games and the bronze medal at the 2000 Games, he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf.
