Robert Goldschmidt

Robert Benedict Goldschmidt (* 1877 ; † 1935 in Brussels ) was a Belgian physicist and inventor.

Goldschmidt and Paul Otlet proposed microfilm for libraries in 1906 . In 1914 he initiated regular radio concerts and in 1907 the construction of the Belgique airship (before that he was already active as a balloonist). Also in 1907 he established radio links from the Brussels Palace of Justice to the Namur Fortress and the observatory in Liège. On behalf of King Albert I, he also set up other radio stations in Belgium and the Congo.

He attended the first Solvay conference in 1911 and was one of its organizers.
