Robert La Roche

Robert La Roche (* 1938 in Vienna ) is an Austrian eyewear designer.

Robert La Roche spent a large part of his childhood in Kirchbach / St. Andrä in Lower Austria and now lives in Vienna. After studying economics, he started at the UN and worked for various companies and advertising agencies in the USA, Germany and Japan.

He started as an autodidact with eyewear design and founded the company Lunettes Robert La Roche in 1973 with headquarters in Vienna.

The company Christian Dior produced the first of his designs, soon followed by Porsche and Carrera . La Roche designed around 50 new models each year in different materials and colors.

In 1999, Robert La Roche sold the brand he had built and now designs decorations and furniture.

The Museum of Applied Arts (Vienna) will dedicate his first solo exhibition to him in a museum from May 2016.
