Robert Margo

Robert Andrew Margo (born September 27, 1954 ) is an American economist and professor at Boston University .

Margo specializes in the history of the American economy with a particular focus on African Americans. Together with Claudia Goldin , he coined the term Great Compression , a period in which the income inequalities narrowed in the USA between 1940 and the 1970s , before they have increased again since then.

Scientific career

Margo received her PhD from Harvard University in 1982 . From 1981 to 1986 he taught at the University of Pennsylvania .
