Manja Kuhl

Manja Kuhl (born October 9, 1981 in Hamburg ) is a German actress .

Manja Kuhl was born in the Hamburg district of Barmbek and took to the stage early on in the children's theater area. After a stay of several months in the People's Republic of China , she accepted various engagements at the Junge Schauspielhaus in her hometown and in the painter's hall of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus . Only then did she complete a formal training from 2004 to 2008 at the Ernst Busch University in Berlin. During this time she appeared in productions at her university (plays by Frank Wedekind , Eugène Ionesco , Thomas Brasch and Lars Norén ), in independent productions (e.g. in the Sophiensaele in Berlin) and at the Maxim Gorki Theater .

From the 2008/09 season Manja Kuhl was a member of the Oberhausen Theater ensemble . For her portrayal of Stella in Tennessee Williams 'play Endstation Sehnsucht she was awarded the Günther Büch Young Talent Award of the Theater Friends' Circle in 2010 . In the title role of Henrik Ibsen’s play Nora or Ein Puppenheim (director: Herbert Fritsch ) she was seen at the 2011 Berlin Theatertreffen . At the North Rhine-Westphalia Theatertreffen westwards in Wuppertal , she won the “best actress” award in the same year. The Friends of the Oberhausen Theater awarded her first prize for her achievements in the 2010/11 season, while the majority of the theater audience voted her the most popular actress.

At the beginning of the 2013/2014 season, Kuhl moved to the ensemble at the Schauspiel Stuttgart .

In 2011 Manja Kuhl was voted “Young Actress of the Year” by the jury of the trade journal Theater heute .
