Robert Troy (* 1982 in Ballynacargy , County Westmeath ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and has been a member of the Dáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish Parliament, since 2011 .

Troy was born in 1982 as the youngest of twelve children. He attended Emper National School and then St. Finian's College . He then went to Dublin to work. He returned five years later to become postmaster of the Ballynacargy Post Office . In the 2004 local elections, Troy was elected to Westmeath County Council , making it its youngest member. In June 2009 he was re-elected.

In the elections for the 31st Dáil Éireann, Troy stood in February 2011 for the Fianna Fáil in the constituency of Longford-Westmeath . Although his party suffered heavy losses in these elections, he managed to get elected. Troy resigned from the Westmeath County Council .
