Roberto Firpo
Roberto Firpo (born May 10, 1884 in Las Flores , Buenos Aires Province , † June 14, 1969 ) was an Argentine tango musician.
Life
Roberto Firpo was successful both as a pianist and orchestra conductor and as a composer. He was the first to introduce the piano to tango and his style influenced the tango of his time significantly. He left nearly 3,000 recordings. In 1916 he wrote the third stanza for his Orquesta Típica and the arrangement of what is probably the most famous tango title of all: La Cumparsita .
