from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Roberto García (* 20th century; † May 28, 2012 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan carnivalist , copywriter and actor.

The Murguista Roberto "Flaco" García was a founding member of Falta y Resto on June 10, 1980 in the middle of the phase of the civil-military dictatorship in Uruguay and an important figure in the Uruguayan carnival. Among other things, he was known for his interpretation of the couplet of "Murga La". He also took part in the singing of Jaime Roos ' "Adiós Juventud".

García was inpatient at the Centro Tarará after an operation because of his long history of lung cancer . This was made possible by a public appeal for donations and the founding of the Fundación Roberto García in April 2012, as he did not have the necessary financial resources.
