Roberto González de Mendoza y de la Torre (born December 26, 1905 in Havana , † 1996 ) was a Cuban lawyer and ambassador .

Life

Roberto González de Mendoza y de la Torre was the son of Mariana de la Torre y Sánchez-Griñán (* 1875) and Ramón González de Mendoza y Pedroso (* 6 February 1871).

De la Torre studied law and practiced the profession of lawyer . In 1935 he was promoted to Secretary of State First Class in London and served as such in Washington, DC from 1938 to 1940 . In 1944 he was first appointed to the personnel department in Havana and, from 1947, he was employed as envoy extraordinary and ministre plénipotentiaire both in Nanking and in Brussels . From December 19, 1950 to 1959, he was finally Ambassador to the Court of St James’s in London.
