Roberto Raviola

Roberto Raviola alias Magnus (born May 30, 1939 in Bologna , Province of Bologna , † February 5, 1996 in Imola , Province of Bologna) was an Italian cartoonist .

life and work

Raviola, whose comic career began in 1964, previously worked as an illustrator. In collaboration with the comic artist Luciano Secchi alias Max Bunker , the comic series Satanik and Kriminal were created , both of which were filmed in 1968. Other series from this time that were started in collaboration with Bunker were the Dennis Cobb Agente Secrete SSO 18 published from 1965 and Alan Ford from 1969 , which he drew until he was replaced by Paolo Piffarerio in 1975. In 1975 Raviola started the spy series Lo Sconosciuto , which was also published in Orient-Express magazine. After the publication of the comic La compagnia della forca , created in collaboration with the author Giovanni Romanini , in 1977, he made a Chinese novel in comic form, I briganti . This was followed by the erotic comics Necron and Le 110 pillole . One in collaboration with the author Claudio Nizzi resulting Tex Willer episode ended Raviola shortly before his death.

Several of Magnus' stories were published in German in the comic magazine Schwermetall . In addition, a documentary illustrated book with the title M for Magnus was published by Edition Kunst der Comics publishing house on the occasion of a Magnus special exhibition as part of the Erlangen Comic Salon .
