The Roberts Massif is a striking ice-free mountain massive in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises 2,700 m at the head of the Shackleton Glacier and extends over an area of around 100 km 2 in the Queen Maud Mountains .
It was explored for the first time by participants in the 1961 to 1962 campaign of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition , who named it after Athol Renouf Roberts (1911-1981), the director of Scott Base from 1961 to 1962.
