Rocco Morabito (Mafioso, 1966)

Rocco Morabito (born October 13, 1966 in Africo ( Calabria )) is an Italian criminal and was the boss of the Calabrian mafia organization 'Ndrangheta . He was arrested on September 4, 2017 in a hotel in Montevideo , the capital of Uruguay , after being searched for 23 years .

Morabito belongs to the Calabrian mafia 'Ndrangheta and was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment in absentia, among other things for drug trafficking and belonging to the mafia. He was on the top wanted list of the Italian authorities. Until his arrest on September 4, 2017, he lived under the name "Francisco Antonio Capeletto Souza" in a villa in Punta del Este in Latin America .

He is accused of being involved in the international drug trade from 1988 to 1994 . Morabito is said to have been responsible for the drug transport in Italy and for the distribution of drugs in Milan , among other things . He is also said to have tried in 1993 to organize a transport of 630 kilos of cocaine from Brazil to Italy.
