The Rock and Pop Center Bonn (RPZ) is a concert location and educational institution supported by the city of Bonn in the historic Hansa-Haus in Bonn Bad Godesberg , operated by the Musiknetzwerk gGmbH and used to promote young talent in the rock and pop scene.

founding

With its founding as the successor organization of the Bonner Rockmusiker Association (VBR), the Bonn Music Network also took over the premises of the insolvent association in the Hansa-Haus in 2003, under the direction of Cyrus and Shirin Valentine . From 2013, extensive renovation measures were carried out for three years, partly for fire protection reasons, during which the music network moved to the former Michaelschule and the RPZ concept was developed. The opening took place during a concert together with the reopening of the Hansa-Haus on September 24, 2016.

concept

The RPZ Bonn unites the offices of the music network, 15 rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, a seminar room, further office rooms for start-ups and an event room with a stage and a capacity of approx. 120 people, which the city of Bonn will furnish as part of the Culture funding was supported with 25,000 euros.

The seminar room offers seminars and workshops for participants in the Toys2Masters contest organized by the music network and other interested musicians. In addition, selected applicants receive individual and long-term support from the RPZ Talent Base, which, according to the music network, should work towards placement in the music industry.

The event room on the first floor of the RPZ is largely used for concerts by young artists and bands organized by the music network, but is also occasionally made available for external events. This takes place within the framework of preliminary rounds of Toys2Masters, non-competitive newcomer concerts (RPZ Showcase) or concerts under a certain main topic or a certain genre (e.g. Girls Rock, the Acoustic Night or the Headbanger's Night).
