Florian "Flo" Dauner (born January 3, 1971 in Stuttgart ) is a German drummer and music producer .

Dauner works regularly with the German hip-hop band Die Fantastischen Vier , drums with Paul van Dyk and plays in the live band of the TV show The Voice of Germany .

The drummer has worked with numerous artists over the years, including well-known musicians and bands such as Sarah Brightman , Charlie Mariano , DePhazz , Albert Mangelsdorff , the United Jazz and Rock Ensemble and Wolfgang Dauner . Florian Dauner also works as a producer and pursues his own projects.

Life

Dauner was born on January 3rd, 1971 in Stuttgart and grew up in a musical family; his father was the jazz musician Wolfgang Dauner . He gave his first public concert at the age of nine. The first recordings followed at the age of 15 (The United Jazz and Rock Ensemble "Round7" on Mood Records). When he was 18, the drummer moved from Stuttgart to Berlin and worked there as a studio musician. Two years later he went to Boston , USA, and studied drums and composition at Berklee College of Music .

In 1993 Dauner returned to Germany and played with the Fantastischen Vier, with whom he gave numerous concerts. Since then Dauner has played at many of the biggest rock, pop and jazz festivals worldwide (including Roskilde , Montreux , Amsterdam , Rock am Ring , Bizarre Festival , MTV Hardpopdays) and in the largest concert halls in the world ( Madison Square Garden , Budokan Tokyo , Globe Stockholm, Rod Laver Arena Melbourne).

In addition to his career as a studio and live musician, he also always pursued his own projects and worked, for example, as a composer for Thomas D , Samir and Good Men Gone Bad , for which he also works as a producer. With the band "orbit.experience" founded in 1999 (together with S. Studnitzky , M. Kössler and M. Birkle) he released two studio albums, a live album and a vinyl maxi single.

In 2016 Dauner put together a band for "Schiller" and went on tour in Germany with the band and "Schiller".
